What is TriPeaks Solitaire?
TriPeaks Solitaire is a quick clearing game built around three overlapping peaks. You remove cards from the tableau by playing cards one rank higher or lower than the waste card. The goal is to clear all three peaks before the stock runs out.
TriPeaks is popular because it creates fast streaks. A good chain can clear a large part of the board in seconds, but a poor choice can leave a peak blocked with no useful stock cards left.
The strongest TriPeaks choices uncover cards while preserving chain direction. A move that opens two covered cards can be better than a move that only extends a short streak. When several exposed cards are playable, check which one reveals the most future options.
TriPeaks rules
The tableau starts as three connected peaks of cards. Only uncovered cards are available. If an exposed card is one rank above or below the current waste card, you can move it to the waste. Then that card becomes the new target for the next move.
- Play exposed cards one rank higher or lower than the waste card.
- Suits usually do not matter.
- Clear covered cards by removing cards below them.
- Draw from the stock when no tableau card can continue the chain.
- Win by clearing all three peaks.
TriPeaks vs Klondike Solitaire
TriPeaks focuses on rank chains and fast clears. Klondike Solitaire focuses on tableau order, foundations, hidden-card reveals, and stock management. TriPeaks is often better for short sessions; Klondike gives a fuller classic Solitaire puzzle.
