Play with the keyboard

• Tab moves between cards, the stock and empty piles.
• Enter or Space plays the focused card to a legal spot.
• Esc clears a selection.
• Ctrl and Z (⌘ and Z on a Mac) undoes a move.
• Ctrl and Enter (⌘ and Enter) deals a new game.

Screen readers

Every card has a spoken name, such as “Ace of Spades”. Hidden cards are read as face-down cards, and a selected card is announced as selected. Game status messages are announced. Moves themselves are not read out as they happen, so it helps to move focus over a column again after a move.

Left-handed layout

Choose left- or right-handed play under Left and Right in the game controls, on the web and in the app. The layout moves to suit your hand; the rules of the deal stay the same.

Bigger cards and text

Use your browser’s zoom: Ctrl and + (⌘ and + on a Mac). At 150% the cards are half as large again, and Ctrl and 0 returns to normal size. On a computer, the variant games also have their own card-size control.

Light, dark and calm

• Choose the light Daylight theme, the darker Dusk theme, or follow your device’s setting.
• If your device is set to reduce motion, VSolitaire reduces its animations to match.
• High-contrast (forced colors) modes are supported.

A relaxed pace for older players and beginners

• There is no time limit in solo play. The clock only affects your score.
• Undo takes back your last move. In solo it costs 5 points.
• Hints are available in Klondike if you get stuck.
• Draw 1 is the gentlest way to start. Choose 1 in the game toolbar.
• Want to play with a grandchild? Create a private room and send the link, or share a challenge link after a game. You both get exactly the same cards, on your own devices.
