How records are timed and checked

The road to official recognition

Guinness World Records

Our ambition is to make solitaire speed records worthy of global recognition. A Guinness World Records title needs its own application, agreed guidelines and an evidence review.

Explore the application process

vSolitaire is independent. No Guinness World Records affiliation or endorsement is claimed.

Checked at the source

The server checks every move

Your device asks for a move; the server checks it against the Klondike rules before it counts. A move the rules do not allow is refused, whatever the screen shows.

Less to see

Only the next cards are sent

In a protected game the server keeps the deal. Your device gets the face-up cards, the next hidden card of each column and the next draw from the stock, so play stays instant, but the rest of the deck never reaches it.

Server authority

The server owns the game and the clock

The board, the moves and the time live on the server. Changing the page or the app changes what you see, not the result that is recorded.

Transparent rules

How records count

  • Only solo wins on a fresh, randomly dealt protected deal count. Daily, challenge-link, race and ghost games share or publish their deals, so they are left out.
  • The time is the server’s: from the moment the cards are dealt to the 52nd card on the foundations, including any auto-complete.
  • Draw 1 and Draw 3 are ranked separately. Time counts, not points; undo and hints are allowed.
  • Records need an account. Each player keeps their fastest run, and equal times share a place.
  • Periods follow UTC: this month starts on the 1st, this week on Monday.
Fair play

What “checked” does and does not mean

Every recorded move was accepted by the server, on a deal the player could not see in advance. That stops edited boards, impossible moves and solvers fed the whole deck.

It cannot tell who is at the keyboard, so a record here is the fastest checked win on vSolitaire, not a world record.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a world record list?

No. These are the fastest checked wins on vSolitaire. vSolitaire is independent and has no affiliation with Guinness World Records.

Why are my older games not listed?

Only protected games count, and records start with them. Earlier games sent the whole deal to the device, so their times cannot be compared fairly.

Why do records need an account?

A record needs a name that stays the same. Guests can play protected games, but only signed-in wins are listed.

Are undo and hints allowed?

Yes. They are part of the game, and the clock keeps running while you use them.
